Duane Farley, Pastor

Duane Farley began his pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church in January 2007. The passion of his life and ministry is to experience and lead others into the delight of Gospel-saturated living. Duane was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. The Lord used his heavy involvement in his local church’s youth group and opportunities to preach as a teenager to give him a heart for the ministry. After submitting to God’s calling on his life, he attended Bob Jones University and Seminary where he received both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Bible.



At BJU he met his wife, Mary. They were married in 1998. Mary earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Counseling. During these years of training, the Lord developed the Farleys through various ministry and leadership opportunities. From 2001-2004, Duane and Mary moved to West Hartford, CT where Duane served as a youth and outreach pastor. During this time of ministry Duane was ordained and Elizabeth Grace was born. In the spring of 2004, the Lord guided the Farleys to Louisville, KY where Duane sought to further enhance his theological and ministry preparedness by attending The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated in December 2006 with a Master’s of Divinity degree. From there, the Lord graciously gave the Farleys the desire of their hearts by allowing them to minister again in New England and specifically at Calvary Baptist Church. After moving back to Connecticut the joy of the Farley family was multiplied with the birth of their son, Hudson Taylor, in February 2007. Jonathan Edwards was born in June 2009.

Duane enjoys reading Christian biographies, visiting significant church history sites, playing basketball and following college football. Mary likewise enjoys reading, socializing, traveling and mothering. Elizabeth energetically enjoys life in general and specifically likes having books read to her, playing with dolls and going to the playground. Hudson passionately pursues anything that moves and can usually be found with at least one train or truck in hand. Jonathan contentedly watches the antics of his siblings and thrives from all their attention.

Mike Healan, Associate Pastor

Mike and Linda Healan returned to their beloved Connecticut and began their ministry at Calvary Baptist Church in February 2009 after living in Minnesota for the previous three years. Prior to that, the Healans had lived in the Constitution State since 1974, so coming to Windsor Locks was like coming back home for them in many ways.



Mike’s consuming desire is to lead God’s people in fervent, Christ-exalting, and cross-centered worship so that Christians are encouraged and God is glorified. Also, he desires to strengthen believers by making disciples within the context of the local church. Mike brings with him over thirty years experience in church ministries, including leadership in music and education programs. His training includes a Bachelors degree in sacred music (Bob Jones University, 1971), a Masters degree in music education (University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music, 1981), and a Doctor of Education degree (Bob Jones University, 2004). Having served with Duane Farley on the pastoral staff at a previous church, their hearts were knit together and they thank God for the opportunity to serve together again. In addition, Mike has desired for some time to lend his help and experience in support of a younger pastor like Duane. God used those factors to bring him to Calvary Baptist as associate pastor.

Married in 1970, Mike and Linda have three grown children and seven grandchildren. Linda is an experienced church pianist and has a desire to be of help to other women. With a degree in education and having taught in several schools for twenty-five years, she is content now to assist her husband in any way she can. They enjoy hiking, biking, traveling, and reading. Mike also is an avid fisherman.
